Alicia Hornbeck owns and operates Angel Acres near Sullivan. She currently has 50 angora goats on the
60 acre farm where she and her five kids have lived for 14 years. They have a 40 acre hayfield, which
keeps them very busy in the summers. They also raise Scottish Highland cattle and keep bees. Angel
Acres practices rotational grazing, does not use pesticides, and fertilizes the fields with manure from the
A spinner, knitter, felter and weaver herself, Alicia has a steady supply of her favorite fiber. “I love
mohair - the curl, the softness and the way it spins and feels as yarn.” She sells raw and washed mohair by
the pound. She has rug yarn available occasionally.
“If anything my favorite thing is transporting all over the country and meeting so many wonderful
customers that have turned into life long friends and being able to see the country with my kids. I am very
fortunate to be able to do this.”
